REDsiblings

Resolve grabbed one segment. Find the rest.

Coming to Mac App Store Support →

What it does

RED camera clips span multiple numbered .r3d files — A001_C001_0101AB.r3d, A001_C001_0102AB.r3d, and so on. When DaVinci Resolve auto-collects footage during a conform, it typically grabs one segment per clip and leaves the siblings behind. REDsiblings scans your destination folder, identifies every incomplete multi-segment clip, locates the missing files on your source drives, and copies them across — with a dry-run preview, copy verification, and a full transfer log. Safe enough to run on master camera media.

Everything included

Multi-segment sibling detection

Scans your Resolve destination for R3D files, identifies which clips span multiple numbered segments, and locates the missing ones on source.

Source drive scanning

Point it at one or more source card locations and it finds every sibling across all of them in one pass.

Dry-run mode

Shows you exactly what will be copied — file by file — before anything moves. Confirm before committing.

rsync-based transfer

Files are copied with rsync in archive mode: checksummed, verified, and resumable if interrupted.

Copy verification

After transfer, file sizes are compared against source. Mismatches are flagged immediately.

Pre-flight checks

Verifies source paths, destination write access, and available disk space before any operation begins.

Timestamped report

Every run produces a plain-text log: files copied, sizes, duration, and any errors — saved alongside your media.

Non-destructive

Read-only access to source. Only adds files — never overwrites, never deletes. Safe to run on master camera media.
